a motorcycle/scooter is only as dangerous as you decide to make it. Wear a helmet, don't be stupid, watch what's going on around you. Do that, and it's not that dangerous

they are only dangerous when they are being driven on the road. 1/2 the battle is deciding if the 8th grader is responsible enough to not be dangerous to him/herself and the rest of the drivers on the road…

As long as it is treated the same as a motor vehicle, some of them can top speeds of 40 clicks. But have respect for the road and others and for God sakes wear a helmet. Most accidents that are fatal with mopeds or gas scooters is because they don't wear a helmet. I would not be convinced that a 13 year old is responsible enough for one.

u have to trust ur child. i dont think they are any less safer than bikes. in cleveland, where im from, the police enforce the law to the fullest

VERY dangerous. The kids I see riding those are cutting in and out of traffic dangerously, passing parked cars too closely, and have no clue about what's going on around them.

depends on 8Th. grader is he/she responsible? but gas is defiantly the way to go.
